Description:
ISLAND PARK is located on Wilson Island between locks 7 & 8 of the Trent Waterway. This secluded twelve mile section of the river offers excellent sport fishing (muskie, pike, pickerel, bass & crappie) canoeing, and plenty of room for water sports such as water skiing and para-sailing. Docking is provided in a sheltered lagoon and your weekend will never be ruined by rough waters. Being part of the Trent-Severn Waterway offers the unique option of unlimited boating - pack a lunch and head down to Trenton one weekend, then up the river for an afternoon's shopping in Campbellford the next! Boats from around the world have stopped to "refuel and refresh" at our main dock.
Facilities:
The park is well treed with level grassy sites. A series of canals offer 38 of the most attractive sites in Ontario. Dock your boat beside your trailer! Our unique riverside, two-acre picnic area - complete with horseshoe pits, baseball diamond, volleyball court, flower garden and safe sandy beach - graces the shoreline. The central section of the park contains a store, propane refill station, Vanities Beauty Salon, children's playground, public telephones, Arcade Centre (pool table, video games etc.). The main Recreation Centre features dances, bingo, euchre, table tennis, and darts. Our active Camper Recreation Committee sponsors the Children's Field Day, Men's Beauty Contest, fireworks, and any other activity that promises fun for the entire family!
We are officially open from the Victoria Day weekend through to Thanksgiving. If you wish to use your trailer in the off-season, washrooms are open and heated but sites have electricity only (a small daily fee applies). Site maintenance (grass cutting, etc.) is included in the basic rate. Although we do not cater to off-road weekend traffic, family and friends of "Seasonal Campers" are welcome if campsites are available.
A list of commonsense rules, complemented by card-access security gates, ensure a safe, secure vacation for you and your family.
But why take our word for it? If the picture below is worth a thousands words, one visit would be worth . . . .
